The word Kalani is the Hawaiian word for “of the heavens or sky.” To some, it also has noble connotations meaning “royal one.” For Varaluz, it is the culmination of a very regal collection of metal work styled in the grand traditions of Venetian glass and crystal chandeliers found in Smithsonian archival holdings. What makes the Kalani collection most striking is that we work in sustainable Capiz and upcycled Kabebe shells (reclaimed after food harvesting) with lead-free crystal to create a warm and inviting take on a glam fixture from days gone by, now reimagined for the modern day.
